At their June meeting, members of the Stamford and Rutland Photographic Society competed for the Annual Portrait Cup competition.
The Society invited Jim Hartje from Peterborough to judge the competition. Jim, a judge for the East of England Photographic Federation with skills in many areas of photography, commented on and scored all images from the members, applying competition standards.
Veronica Watson won the competition with a delightful image of a young girl in a light coloured dress but unusually for a portrait she was in profile.
In second place was Tom Carlill’s creative shot “I have nothing” showing a poker player with the face of the cards reflected in his glasses
Gordon Brown came third with his image of a young woman looking over her shoulder with clear bright eyes and Dave Baxter came fourth with his colourful portrayal of a Morris Man.
