Stamford Photo Walk May 19th 2022

Stamford Photo Walk

Meet outside The George Hotel

(side of the hotel on Station Road)

At 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start

This event will be hosted by Stamford and Rutland Photographic Society and is open to all.

We will be accompanied by a reenactor, who will be dressed in Georgian period costumes, and our route will cover the main sights, architecture and the grand and darker side of historic Stamford.

2022 March Competition

The topic for the March Competition was Open which gave members the opportunity to present their best images without the limitation of a specific subject. This resulted in some stunning images.

In the Individual image section, Veronica Watson was a runaway winner with her monochrome image taken outside the Louvre in Paris

Second place was taken by Gordon Brown’s image of a damselfly taken last summer at Paxton Pits, St Neots

In third place was Sue West with her image of an otter taken in just outside Peterbourough at Nene Park, Ferry Meadows

In fourth Place was St.John Burket with his image of decaying building

The group competition was won by Veronica Watson with her collection of monochrome Lourve images

2022 February Competition

In February the competition theme was Night Photography.

First place in the Individual competition was won by Veronica Watson with a really atmospheric shot of a road at night complete with car light trails and an intriguing individual pondering

In Joint 2nd place was Tom Carlill and Gordon Brown

Tom’s image was taken in London with a young lady on a Routemaster bus

Gordon’s image of the lighthouse was taken at Portland Bill on a starry night.

In 3rd Place was Sue West with her image taken on an evening just after Christmas in Stamford

StJohn Burkett took 4th Place with his image taken at night by the sea with a pedestrian walking along the beach.

 
The Group competition, with sets of 4 photos, was won by Veronica Watson with Sue West second, Gordon Brown third and Tom Carlill in fourth place.

2022 January Competition Results

The “Open” topic competition individual image was won by Julie Coles with her photograph of a squirrel

In joint second place was Tom Carlill along with Sue West with her image of the solitary tree

In joint third place were St.John Burkett with his image of a dancer along with Veronica Watson monochrome

 

In fourth Place was David Hodson

The Group competition with a set of 4 images was won by Tom Carlill

with David Hodson in 2nd, 

Sue West in 3rd

and Gordon Brown 4th
